Call to Discipleship - January - The Fruit of Gentleness
The discipleship Fruit of the Spirit for January is gentleness. Gentleness is a tender and kindly disposition that is polite and respectful. It is not weak or passive, but rather derived from a position of strength and authority. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near" Philippians 4:4-5 (NIV).
Family Night at the Walleye Game - Friday, January 27 at 7:00 PM
Mark you calendars for Community of Christ Family Fun Night with the Toledo Walleye. Game time at 7:00 PM with upper deck seating! Buffet dinner at Pizza Papalis in Downtown Toledo from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Join us for fellowship and great hockey! Watch for ticket information and additional details on the church kiosk.
Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University - starts January 30, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, for 13 weeks
More than one million families have attended Financial Peace University with amazing results. On average, these families paid off $5,300 in debt and saved $2,700 in just the first 90 days! Stop worrying about money and get your financial life on track. The program is a 13 week-long course, and starts Monday, January 30 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Community of Christ. Childcare will be available in the nursery. Each session starts with Dave Ramsey teaching on video and is followed by small group discussions. Contact the church office to learn more about the program. Course registration and a membership fee are required. Enrollment is open through February 6.
Ash Wednesday service - February 22 at 7:00 PM
Ash Wednesday will be celebrated at 7:00 PM including the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. All are welcome to come for a soup supper at 5:30 PM.
Lent services - Wed. February 22 - Wed. March 28 - 7:00 PM
Lent services will be offered each Wednesday evening from February 22 (Ash Wednesday) through March 28. A soup supper will be offered starting at 5:30 PM on Ash Wednesday, and then at 6:00 PM throughout the rest of Lent. All are welcome!
