January Mission Project: To Invite - Using the faith practice as a guide this month, the Christian Education committee wants to challenge everyone to invite at least one new person or family to come to attend church with us. This could be through an invitation to come to Sunday School or an offer to come to one of the services.  This is one way a community of believers to offer hospitality and to make Jesus known.

Book Club Meets January 19 at 7:00 PM - The Shack is a  contemporary  tale in which a grieving father learns the truth about his late daughter's death and why bad things happen to good people.  Mack's grief has repelled his family when they needed him most.  In this story, Mack confronts God (Papa) to ask why his child has suffered an atrocious death.  God (Papa) responds by saying, in essence, that his dead child will be in his heart for eternity.   Fans of William Young will appreciate the deep angst laden story in which we come to for us at our gravest moments even when we feel most abandoned.

Lutheran Basics Class - Beginning January 17 - Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM - (We will also continue to offer an Adult Sunday School Class).  This class is for people wanting to join Community of Christ and coming either by transfer from another Lutheran church or from non-Lutheran backgrounds.
