Lutheran Ministries Media produces an award-winning, 30 minute television program called "Worship for Shut-Ins". It is unique in that it is not presented by any one congregation. It is a one-on-one sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The age of a shut in can range from a child (Children's Hospitals) to the elderly who are homebound or in nursing homes.
Each week, this program offers a worship service for shut-ins, hospital patients, and extended-care individuals. It includes hymns sung by choirs and soloists. It includes Scripture readings, a sermon, prayers, the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and benediction presented by a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor.
Look for our broadcast schedule or call us to request additional information on how you can broadcast this Lutheran television program in your area. Call us toll-free at (888) 286-8002.
Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio - offers support group help for caregivers - Where? Community of Christ. When? Third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM! People who have Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder are often cared for at home by family members and friends. To help caregivers in Lucas County, the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio invites anyone who has a family member or friend with memory loss to attend a support group meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM here at our church.
Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease is a challenge. Changes in the person’s behavior, caused by the progress of the disease, can lead to frustration and anxiety for a caregiver. Caregivers attending a support group meeting find a relaxed, confidential atmosphere. They are among other caregivers and discuss suggestions for handling specific medical, legal, behavioral and financial problems.
For more information about the Whitehouse support group and other services available to caregivers, call or Candy at 419-877-5520 or Pat Wood at 877-5426, or the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio at 1-800-441-3322 or 537-1999.

American Red Cross TeleCare - What is TeleCare? Every morning a TeleCare volunteer calls program participants to check in with them. TeleCare volunteers call folks who are homebound and to senior citizens who live alone. This free service to the community also helps seniors retain their independence. The caller checks that the client is safe, provides daily reassurance and even helps someone enjoys a familiar voice every morning. Perhaps you or someone you know would like to receive a daily call from someone who cares at the American Red Cross. Or, maybe you would like to be a volunteer caller and continuing the tradition of caring.
