Community Programs and Information

Whitehouse Food Pantry - Our local food pantry is in desperate need for canned goods.  They are currently distributing food 96 times a month.  Please place your contributions in the shopping cart in the hallway in the section marked Whitehouse Food Pantry. 

Lutheran Homes Society - A new program is being offered called LINK AGES through LHS, a faith based, affordable, Geriatric Care Management Program.  This program offers assistance to help seniors stay in their own homes. Some of the services provided are home visits, assistance during vacations, home maintenance and simple repairs.  Fees are on a sliding scale.  Please see the kiosk for more information.

Feed Your Neighbor Program - Salem Lutheran Church, downtown Toledo serves many meals a week through their AGAPE Meals Program.  There is always a needs for food contributions, if you can donate any of these items, please place them in the grocery cart in the hall.  They are looking for: tuna, ramen noodles, pork & beans, Kool-Aid in large canisters, cream soup, powdered laundry soap, any personal hygiene items.

Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice - Heartland Hospice continues to provide quality care for individuals facing an end-of-life illness. We are always looking for volunteers to journey with these individuals and their families. We are willing to come to your church to train a group of people together.  Please call Carol Small, Director of Volunteer Services, (419) 531-0440.

"Worship for Shut-Ins" - Sharing Christ's Love through ministry and media.  3225 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN  46805.  (260) 471-LOVE (5683), (888) 286-8002.  Lutheran Ministries Media produces an award-winning, 30 minute television program called "Worship for Shut-Ins".  It is unique in that it is not presented by any one congregation.  It is a one-on-one sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The age of a shut in can range from a child (Children's Hospitals) to the elderly who are homebound or in nursing homes.

Each week, this program offers a worship service for shut-ins, hospital patients, and extended-care individuals.  It includes hymns sung by choirs and soloists.  It includes Scripture readings, a sermon, prayers, the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and benediction presented by a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor.
