It has been part of the practice at Community of Christ to have children receive communion after instruction by the Pastor. The age in which the child takes the instruction and then receives communion is left up to the parents. In the past it has been around the 2nd to 7th grade. This year 3 classes will be held after school on Wednesdays, April 6, 13 and 20. Plans are for the children to receive communion on Easter Sunday at the 10AM service. The classes will run from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A letter will be sent to parents who have children this age and are members of the church. If you aren’t yet a member, but would like to enroll your child, please call the church and we will make sure you receive a letter.
Instruction will cover the important connection between Passover and the Last Supper, how Holy Communion is a meal in which our sins are forgiven, and how to prepare and receive holy communion.
