Weddings

We enjoy being involved in Christian weddings. We enjoy being involved in the planning of the wedding, as well as conducting the wedding service. Our pastor and the Director of Music form a team, with the bride and groom to make the wedding ceremony a memorable worship experience.

Wedding services are held at the church with weddings beginning no later than 3:30PM on Saturday afternoon because of our 5PM worship service.  We provide a room for the bride and her attendants, complete with mirrors and a bathroom. The groom and his attendants come to the church dressed for the wedding.

Those who wish to have the weddings at Community of Christ are encouraged to contact the church office to talk about available dates and times.  The sooner the better as many dates fill quickly.

Most weddings performed at Community of Christ are for people who are Community of Christ members. On occasion, we perform weddings for people who are not members. Our Wedding Guidelines, which talk specifically about different aspects of the wedding, are available in the church office.

Each couple meets three times with the pastor.  All wedding music must be appropriate for worship and be approved by the pastor.

Rehearsals usually take place on Friday nights. Times for rehearsal are secured at the time that you register for your wedding.
