Baptisms

baptisms

Baptism is the means by which God makes sons and daughters. Through baptism we are washed and made new. God, who is rich in mercy and love, gives us a new birth into a living hope through the Sacrament of Baptism. By water and the Word, God delivers us from sin and death and raises us to new life in Jesus Christ. We are united with all the baptized in the one body of Christ, anointed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and joined in God’s mission for the life of the world (Evangelical Lutheran Worship – The Baptismal Liturgy)

We welcome the baptism of those within the church and those presently outside the church. Adults who wish to be baptized are instructed prior to baptism either through the Lutheran Basics Class or privately. Parents who wish to have their child baptized into God’s family at Community of Christ need to contact the church office to set up an appointment to meet with the pastor.

Baptisms are a part of the service and can be done most weekends at either the 8:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. services.
