The Cakewalkin' Jass Band, a Toledo institution, will present dinner music followed by a full concert on Saturday, November 8, 2014. A brats/dogs and potluck dinner will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the concert at 7:00. Toledo's "oldest New Orleans' style jazz band" was founded in 1967 by Ray Heitger, and has played in some of Toledo's most famous evening venues. Many people in the Toledo area fondly remember the Band's rollicking run from 1968 to 1980 at Tony Packo's, and later at Murphy's and Ragtime Rick's. The Jass Band is currently comprised of banjo, string bass, piano, cornet, clarinet, drums, trombone, and vocalist. Their repertoire of 490 New Orleans' style tunes guarantee an evening of toe-tapping fun!

Festival of Carols

A festive holiday turkey dinner benefiting the youth will be followed by a cantata presented by the combined choirs of Community of Christ and Zion Lutheran churches. It will feature both newly composed pieces and familiar carols for the congregation to sing along.

Toledo area musicians and members of the American Guild of Organists - Toledo Chapter present works for organ
and instruments. This is a benefit concert for the Toledo AGO’s Scholarship Program. For the past 15 years this organization has offered organ study scholarships to youth grades 7-12 and recently opened the auditions to
adult organ students. Many of their scholarship winners have gone on to study organ in college and at the graduate level, and this year two former winners were awarded prestigious national prizes. Come and support our current and future church musicians!
