April 13, 2008:  Orientation:  2009 ELCA National Youth Gathering 12:00 PM - Jesus, Justice and Jazz are the theme for next summer’s National Youth Gathering.  Parents…Youth…got questions???  I have answers!   After the 10:00 AM service, come to the classroom next to the nursery for information and a video detailing this wonderful opportunity. 

April 20, 2008: HS Youth: Full Moon Walk 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM - The HS Youth will participate in a Full Moon Walk at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark, Airport Highway Parking Lot, 8:30 to 9:30 PM.  Learn moon lore and more about nature at night.  Dogs not permitted.  Fee: Free.  Meet at the church at 8:00 PM.  Friends welcome.  Sign up on the youth bulletin board!  Adult drivers needed…please sign up on the bulletin board also.

April 27, 2008:  Jr. High Youth Trip to Play Wally Ball 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - The Jr. High Youth is going to Laurel Hills in Maumee, OH to play Wally Ball (volleyball in a racket ball court).  Think you’re not good enough to play…you can use the walls to get the ball over the net.  It’s fun and easy!   Meet at the church.  Friends welcome.  Sign up on the youth bulletin board!  Adult drivers needed…please sign up on the bulletin board also.

July 22-26, 2009 - The 2009 ELCA National Youth Gathering, New Orleans, LA - The Gathering program will be different than Gatherings before.  Planning teams and staff are working with local congregations and organizations, young people, and the city to pay attention to what makes the city of New Orleans unique, as well the changes it is going through as the entire Gulf Coast region continues to recover after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  The focus will be on service and justice as we live our shared reality as Christians: Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered, and sent for the sake of the world.  What remains the same is that youth and adults are immersed in worship, music, Bible study, service, learning, play, prayer, the witness of faithful leaders from around the world, reflection, caring for others, and new friendships.  Be sure to visit this Web site often and explore the links to see what new information is posted or changing.  Check out www.elca.org/youth/gathering for more details.
